During the 2025 All Colleague Meeting in Salt Lake City, the HCIM team demonstrated their dedication to community service by volunteering at The Christmas Box International. Our colleagues rolled up their sleeves to support this vital organization through hands-on volunteer work.
During the event, HCIM team members organized storage closets and sorted donations. While these activities may seem routine, this kind of work allows organizations to respond quickly when vulnerable children need immediate support.
The Christmas Box International operates with a clear mission: to prevent child abuse and protect children through a culture of diversity, inclusion, and love. Founded in 1996 by New York Times bestselling author Richard Paul Evans, the organization was born from a vision of creating safe spaces for children in Utah. Evans named the charity after his first novel, “The Christmas Box,” symbolizing the gift of safety and security that every child deserves.
The organization’s comprehensive approach tackles multiple facets of child welfare through programs tailored to meet children where they are and offer support throughout their developmental journey. Their services include emergency shelter care for children in crisis, holiday programs that ensure vulnerable children find joy during tough seasons, and transitional support for teenagers aging out of foster care.
In fiscal year 2023/2024, The Christmas Box International served 13,667 at-risk children—a figure that reflects thousands of individual stories of intervention, support, and hope.
Beyond volunteer efforts, HCIM contributed $5,000 to support The Christmas Box International’s programs. This donation shows our belief that effective community partnerships require both hands-on involvement and financial support to create lasting change.
