At our recent 2024 All Colleague Meeting, the HCIM team came together to collaborate, celebrate, and take time to embrace the spirit of community and kindness. Our colleagues participated in a mobile studio session with Ben’s Bells, painting ceramics destined for the community.
This event wasn’t just about crafting beautiful ceramics but a profound exercise in teamwork and empathy, guided by Ben’s Bells’ mission to educate and inspire communities about the power of intentional kindness. These pieces—part of a larger conveyor of kindness—start as a simple piece of clay and once completed, are hung in public spaces around the globe, waiting to be found by passersby, who are encouraged to take them home as a reminder of the power of kindness.
Founded in 2002, Ben’s Bells doesn’t just distribute symbols of kindness; they are educators and advocates for a kinder world. Through their programs, they delve into the science of compassion, teaching that our smallest actions can have profound impacts. Through educational programs like Kind Kid and Kind Campus, Ben’s Bells instruct over 200 schools across the nation on the importance of kind acts. These programs offer monthly educational materials that schools can integrate into their curricula, promoting a culture of kindness that has notably enhanced student interactions and reduced bullying.
Moreover, HCIM proudly donated $5,000 to support Ben’s Bells’ ongoing initiatives. This contribution underscores our commitment to fostering an environment where kindness is cultivated as a fundamental value. By highlighting the tangible and intangible benefits of kindness, from increased personal joy to a more connected society, Ben’s Bells demonstrates that kindness is not merely an act but a lifestyle that can indeed change the world.
